I was thinking about Faith the other day; I thought what a good post that would make and Id titled it What is Faith? Yesterday my Granddaughter and I went to the movie Heaven is for Real (faith), and on the way back I saw a church sign that read, What is Faith?! I took all of the above as a sign from God- Faith- what is It? A couple of days ago, I was thinking about what Faith is. I have Faith there is God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. But what else is Faith? (A couple of days ago I wanted to post of how I was doing; I started to think of the surgery and one thought lead to another.) I sure didn’t have enough faith to put my trust in Him that morning! Merriam-Webster dictionary’s definition of Faith is: that it’s a noun; Strong belief or trust in someone or something, Belief in the existence of God, Strong religious feelings or beliefs, A system of religious beliefs. What’s the Bible’s definition? Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Believe without seeing. Makes sense; right? 2 Corinthians 5:7- “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” So how do we “get” faith? By Hearing His Word By Reading His Word By Learning His Word By Doing His Will and By Obeying His Laws Romans 10:17- “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” Ask God to come into your heart and live by His Word. You will be Blessed forever. Hebrews 11:6- “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” We need to walk the walk; Not just talk the talk. When we follow His Word, we have peace, joy, and blessings. When we do not follow His Law, we will eventually hit a brick wall. But when we take that leap, we cannot take credit for it. We will not win an award either. Faith is a Gift from God. A Gift from Him to us. Ephesians 2:8- “For by Grace you have been saved through Faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the Gift of God…” Everyone needs God’s Direction and Guidance. When we read His Word, we learn so much more of what He wants from us and the Path of Life sure becomes easier to follow. Psalm 119:105- “Your Word is a Lamp for my feet, a Light for my Path.” Father, Thank you for sharing Your Faith with me. Please help me to continue to grow in Your Walk. I Love You, Lord.
