I was truly looking forward to the Elizabeth Dole Foundation Fellows social at the White House on Wednesday in DC. HOWEVER, the social has been canceled and rescheduled for Friday, in which I will not be able to stay in DC until Friday due to an important weekend adventure with my husband (YEAH YEAH YEAH). The reason it was canceled is honorable; the Obamas are attending the memorial service at Ft. Hood for the shooting victims. First and foremost I am looking forward to meeting my fellow Fellows. We will also be in several events with Senator Elizabeth Dole and tour DC. Several of us will be meeting with our Congressional Leaders on Capitol Hill --- I meet with Congressman Kevin Cramer (9am) Senator John Hoeven (10:30am) and Senator Heidi Heitkamp (1:15pm) --- They are all so accessible here in ND and I get to see them here frequently, but it will be nice to sit in their office and catch them up with the Rand Study and Dole Foundation. I will be attending an event at WH later this spring so I will still get to be at the White House. But... (sad face for now.)
