I was trying to explain to my wife what my tinnitus sounds like all day, every day, 24/7, in both ears (yes, even when I am sleeping). Found this web site with different types of tinnitus sounds that patients have reported to doctors. Mine is #1, 4000 Hz Zone. If I turn down my volume control on my laptop down to number 8, It sounds almost exactly what I hear all the time. This is for all you spouses out there who are tired of repeating everything to those of us with this hearing problem. Unfortunately, my audiologist told me that hearing aids wont help much with the range of my tinnitus. Sooooooo, if I ask you to repeat something, please be patient. Thanks. ata.org/sounds-of-tinnitus
