I was tucking my 4-year-old daughter Lily into bed last night and she said “Mommy, I need to treat myself nicer”. I don’t know where she heard that phrase, but it struck home. I gave her a huge hug and said “Yes baby, we all need to treat ourselves nicer. We need to treat ourselves like we would want someone else to treat us”. As I closed the door, I did a mental check on how I’d been treating myself. I came to the conclusion I needed more kindness. Thanks Lily! - Elizabeth, Afternoons
