I was worrying that the WWI 100th anniversary beano would turn - TopicsExpress

I was worrying that the WWI 100th anniversary beano would turn into the almost invariable upshot of rather too many military occasion remembrance deals - i.e. an elaborately yet transparently deceptive, thick-eared attempt to justify an incompetent governments inability to keep humans from being hurled into a general abbattoir bacchanale in the name of something completely unjustifiable and totally unnecessary, with the word freedom thrown in there meaninglessly, there as some kind of magical get out of jail free card, as if it were Abracadabra a la peanut butter sandwiches!. But having seen these comments from the pile of bubble-wrap in a suit that acts as British PM - These men signed up to prevent the domination of a continent, to preserve the principles of freedom and sovereignty that we cherish today - I realise my concerns were entirely unfounded.
