I wasnt going to post about this but the more I think about the more awesome it is... It is going to be weird kind of awesome but awesome none the less. Isaiah got his first detention this week. As he was telling me about it was making NO sense since he kept saying it is an Indiana Law and his teacher had to take him to court... What is that? I waited for an email that never came to explain. I had very little idea WHY he had a detention but he was admit that he had one. So we headed to school at 6:55 AM. He walked in with out comment. He went to bed the night before with out comment. He did it with out complaint. This is HUGE he didnt blow it out of portion once I reacted calmly. When he came home he said it was LAME! I had to listen to a lecture I will never do that again it was SOOOO stupid it is not like it was for a grade so why was it important? Then he clearly told me WHY he had a detention. He is suppose to graph his grades in science and he did not graph it twice.... ( I said Nothing but YES that was lame!) I am such a rule follower.... The reason it is awesome is that he clearly told me what happened with out drama. He used teenage words instead of trump up talk about laws and things that made no sense.(after the first talk that made NO sense but I knew not to push) He was seen as equal and had to take the punishment just like every other student. He was able to do this with out a big melt down. It was touch and go Tuesday night but we made it through and because I remained calm and told him of my detention for not doing homework and repeated what my mother said to me. We made it through. Lets hope we can continue this calm trend to things that happen in the future. Life sometimes is a mind field.
