I watched the terrible scene in Gaandoriya in Akash Aath. Somlota Acharya Chowdhury sang ay tobe sohocori....i would start abusing her. The more distortion the less presentation! there would be a time for raising ones voice in the arena of politics, why not in culural decadence??? what is going on in the channel? i hope nobody can imagine.... as the song was not only terrible but also her dress up! I will literally give a tight slap on Somlota Acharya Chowdhurys face if given a chance to view her live performance. earlier there were several experiments but those experiments have turned out to be concrete examples. who is Somlota and why is she so eager to sing Tagore song?? Better to be a bar singer than to disrepute Tagore! who ordered Somlota to sing? l dont know how much we have to experience....fair or foul.. In an article of Anandbazar Patrika she criticized (such was Somlotas audacity and education...after all what best can be expected from her) Swagatalaxmi Dasgupta for her using piano as an accompaniment , swagatalaxmi also retorted stating that piano was a regular accompaniment in Tagore family when it came to music. Such degradation of musical performance in the name of true lover of Tagore songs must be stopped at any cost. There are many more instances by other artists but todays performance Somlota will exceed them all with distortion and gesture. Her presentation was almost like a barsinger!!!!
