I went to the Sierra Nevadas last week for a few days. I went alone on a spontaneous urge to find something inside myself and evaluate the other souls that surround me. I had gear, a tent, a compass, and all that good stuff to help keep me safe and explore some place Ive always wanted to discover for my own eyes and memories. I was traveling through the giant Sequoias trying to find something that was above those giant trees, and I stumble upon a sign for a lookout point at the top of this mountain. I followed the dirt road for almost two and half hours up hill with multiple forks in many directions. Finally, I saw a sign that said the peak is ahead but the path was through some very thick bush. There was a foot path that the Rangers took, so I hiked up it with my gear and guitar and found a beautiful look out that looked over the clouds. I found many things about myself over those clouds. I grew up a little more, I stayed young a little longer, and discovered many things about existence and the people who are in and out of my life. I wrote music, I gazed, and I learned. I know now whoever you are, its possible if you keep searching. This walk about I took gave me fuel and confidence to finish this record for myself, my brother, my sister, my family, my band mates, my best friends, my lovers, and my haters. To whoever this may reach, I love you, I believe in you and I hope we become who and what ever we strive to believe in.
