I wish everyone had the opportunity to carry the Flag of the United States of America into an arena filled with people standing at attention as our flag passes by, waving in the breeze. To look out at the crowd and see veterans standing at attention and saluting Old Glory. I wish everyone took the time to visit a Veterans Center and talk to the amazing men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country. I wish everyone would spend the time to talk to a wife, or husband, or child, or family member of someone who has either given their life in service, or who is currently giving their life to serve our Nation. They all need our support. Today, in the middle of hot dogs, and lakes, and general merry-making because we have the day off from work, we hope that you will join in a time of remembrance, in a time of gratitude, and in a time of celebration for the brave men and women who have faithfully protected our borders and people around the world. To the soldiers, sailors, air men and women, marines, and members of all branches of our Guard, we salute you. We applaud you. We thank you. God Bless the United States of America.
