I woke up this morning and could not move my right shoulder. I am in excruciating pain. It was terrifying. I still went in to work and the pain continued to get worse. My whole right arm was swollen, turned purple, and was really cold. The school sent me to the hospital. If you know me, you know I will do anything to avoid the hospital. I went in, they assisted me with the paperwork. I got blood work and an xray. (reminder this is China. Beijing has 25 MILLION people) I was diagnosed with supraspinatus tendonitis. The doctor told me what it was, then looked it up in an English medical book to show me, in case I couldnt understand his English. He prescribed me 15 boxes of medication. An anti-inflammatory , lidocain pain relief patches, regulated STRONG pain medication, and an antibiotic. From check-in to check-out it took less than 30 minutes and cost 547 RMB which converts to $88.43 USD and my medical insurance with the school covered the whole bill. 0 copay. America you are doing it WRONG!
