I work at home and out on the road. I have a bike fit studio in my home in Redwood City. I do all my office work in my home in Redwood City. I coach private clients and group clinics out on the road. Ive taught indoor cycling classes at a variety of locations. Today, Im working on the computer when the doorbell rings. I peer out the window and dont see either UPS or FedEx, and Im not expecting anyone, so I wonder who it could be. As I approach the door, I anticipate a couple of missionaries or a door-to-door salesperson on the other side. Much to my surprise, I open the door to Sean, and elderly man from Ireland who is visiting the bay area for a few weeks. I ask him what I can do for him and he simply says Savvy Bike? It seems Sean is a cyclist and is looking for a spinning class. He apparently found me on Yelp and Google Places and thought I taught classes. Im sure he was surprised when he arrived at my home. Anyways, we had a lovely conversation and I sent him on his way to the YMCA (which is the only gym within walking distance from where he is staying). Moral of the story: Dont be afraid to open the door, even if you dont know what lies behind it.
