♡ I worked for RBS for 4 years and Ive have had first hand experience if being part of the financial sector work force. I think many No voters are people who have little first hand experience of any of this, apart from their first tentative steps into the mirtgage market, those wealthy no voters, who see themselces as the superior survivers of a recession which was below them. The other side if the No campaign is people so lost and let down by their government that they are the true underdogs, the poorest, most under privileged people. See how the most fibancially comfortable and complacent hold down the situation and prevent change for the most lowly levels of status quo, all complacent and with nothing to fight for, just fearful to lose. Yes voters are not dreaming romantic un-realists. We are middleclass, working class, privileged, under-privileged. .. people who are truely awake to making things happen, Instead of simply letting things happen and stsying on the fence, hoping things will be better without causing any trouble. If these stay safe fence sitters sway the chance of a better tomorrow then it will be a sad day next Friday! Modernise dont patronise please, no voters. Or stay on the fence and dont vote if you are just voting no out of patronising ill informed bbc trusting stubbornness. Stay home and lock the doors and put you fingers in your ears if thats how un-bending you are to a chance to escape the hirrible negative fear mongering misery of an out moded gellish Westminster shambles. Westminster let us down fir years, and this vote is an organised and democratic and positive move to maje things better. Why smear that as hateful? Why smear that as stupid and anti-english? Why belittle something just because you are a follower of the status quo with no understanding of class divides, class unity, national unity, unity in a country to better itself truely, for everyones sakes? You still think Westminster us a well oiled engine as they feed on the positivity brought by this campaign and seek credit for the good in it? It is them who caused the wars, who approved of bombing Palestine, it is Westminster doing all the bad things over YEARS to lead ti this chance. Along cones change and you misery entrenched people say no Well thanks for missing the whole point no voters. :) RBS meanwhile... reality check. Dear colleagues We have today made a statement to the market (see below), providing information on our contingency planning in the event of a Yes vote in next week’s referendum on Scottish independence. As you will have seen over the last twenty four hours, other Scottish headquartered financial institutions have made public statements about their intentions. This served to fuel media speculation about our own plans, and in those circumstances, it became necessary for us to update the market on aspects of our contingency planning. It is my view as Chief Executive that any decision to move our registered headquarters should have no impact on everyday banking services used by our customers in Scotland and the rest of the British Isles. This is a technical procedure regarding the location of our registered head office. It is not an intention to move operations or jobs. Our current business in Scotland, including the personal and business bank, IT and operations, human resources and many other functions, are here because of the skills and knowledge of our people, and the sound business environment. So far, I see no reason why this would change should we implement our contingency plans. It is always my aim to ensure we inform our staff about such issues at the earliest opportunity. I know many of you will have already heard about this first in the media. My apologies for that, on this occasion this was unavoidable. Over the next week, and beyond, we will continue to update you whenever appropriate. Ross McEwan Chief Executive
