I would like to commend members of both the SR City Council and Sonoma County Board of Supervisors for promptly and proactively being responsive to inquiries regarding programs to put cameras on police/sheriffs. Its great to know the members I had contact with all support cameras on law enforcement. FYI- Both jurisdictions already have different test programs actively in place, and it is my understanding ALL uniformed sheriffs will have pocket cameras starting Jan 1, 2015. SRPDs program has more info to hopefully be released soon. That said, the policy of the county program has some glaring holes that really ought to be revisited and revised... And that is where YOU come in. We the people will have to engage on this. Its a big deal. Done well, this is a big step forward for protecting all parties, citizen to officer. #RebuildTheTrust #ImproveTheCommunity #PreventionAndAccountability
