I would like to invite everyone in beautiful Croatia to join me at a special humanitarian concert on 22 February, which is part of a broader The Voice of the Free Syrian Children tour. This concert tour has only one purpose: doing what we can to relieve the suffering of the children of Syria. All net proceeds from these concerts will be used exclusively to benefit humanitarian programs that address the desperate plight of Syrian children. Our humanity and basic decency demands that all of us do what we can for the orphaned and vulnerable Syrian children. Relieving the suffering of children cannot be a matter of debate or dispute, and is entirely beyond any aspect of politics. It is an indisputable moral necessity that faces each of us as individuals and the entire human family. As artists, our role is to give a voice to this privation and pain, and to use our skills and craft to raise both awareness and funds to help alleviate that suffering. Ill have the honor of being accompanied by the Varaždin Chamber Orchestra. We are proud to come together as a team to give the free children of Syria a voice and to give all people of goodwill in Croatia an opportunity to help fund badly needed relief for the plight of these blameless sufferers. Im also honored to be joined in the The Voice of the Free Syrian Children tour by eminent partners including the VTV, The Croatian Red Cross, The City of Varaždin, and Rutgers Center for the Study of Genocide, Conflict Resolution, and Human Rights, a UNESCO Chair in Genocide Prevention. The support of such distinguished humanitarian associates is crucial to the success of this vital relief effort. The February 22 benefit concert will be performed at 7 PM at the historic Croatian National Theater in Varaždin.
