I would like to share how thankful the people we helped this morning. At about 8:30 we pull our box truck up at Tucker and Pine downtown. This morning there were no less than 50 men, women and even two babies waiting for us. They line up at the back of the truck and we start handing out the things they need. A tshirt, some shorts or pants, underwear, hygiene kits, shoes and more. It breaks my heart when I dont have a size 10 tennis shoes or medium underwear or Im out of size 34 pants. Todays different request that Ill be working on for next week: a skillet and a larger size purse. Also need backpacks and duffle bags. Im including a list of really specific things, if you can help in anyway please know we get these items right into the hands of the people that need them. Here are our highest need items: All sizes Mens jeans and athletic pants Mens cargo or athletic shorts Mens white T-shirts or tanks Mens tennis shoes Underwear boxers/boxer briefs Mens socks, white or black Windbreaker/Rain repellant jackets Hygiene items especially deodorant. Duffle bags, backpacks etc Large purses Womens underwear and bras Womens slip on shoes/sandals Womens tennis shoes Let me know if you, a team at work, a Girl Scout troop or a church group would like to help.
