I would like to share some exciting news with all of you. I have published a book! For decades I have been writing. I have more than twenty articles published, but I always wanted to move on and write a novel. Well, I did and it’s now ready to be shared. The blurb on the back of the book describes what its about: Pastor Ed Yates is a year and a half away from receiving his full pension. The problem is that no one wants this once shining star. In the rural town of Guernsey, Wisconsin, there is a church that worships twenty people on a good Sunday. They can’t get a pastor. The Bishop brings them together. It’s a win-win situation; what could possibly go wrong? Ed’s cynical attitude doesn’t sit well with the church members, but then again, Ed isn’t too impressed with them either. They appear more interested in saving pews than people. A stroke victim unable to pronounce her r’s and l’s insists on singing solos, and one member is sure she owns the church. If things aren’t difficult enough, five miles down the road, a mega-church run by a narcissistic pastor, wants to be the only church in the county. While at the cabin he calls “home,” an incident precipitated by a sick sparrow provides Ed with a renewed sense of call. With Guernsey Community Church about to close, Ed decides that failure isn’t an option this time. With humor and moments of profound seriousness, this story is ultimately not about a pastor that saves a church, but about a church that saves a pastor. The book will available to buy at church.
