I would like to share this award Gawad sa Kaunlaran to the men and women of AFP Medical Team Yolanda who promptly responded beyond the call of duty in Samar and Leyte, who not just triaged, treated, referred and evacuated patients 24/7 but manifested selfless service, sweat it out, worked hard, some got hurt, injured & bruised, some silently cried and most were emotionally affected during the assessment, body retrieval & identification, camp/area clean-up, fixed tent, makeshift clinic set-up, and the various multi-tasks that theyve performed which ultimately, somehow, gave hope, inspired and uplifted the lives of the many people theyve touched. May I also share this award to the numerous individuals, Government, and Non-Government organizations both from local, National and International who shared their time, effort and resources.
