I write this with full knowledge that some will hate what I have to say and/or Facebook will probably ban me but considering this is my profile and supposedly a forum for one to express his feelings I will do it anyway! Everyday I log onto Facebook and see many things on my newsfeed from endless club flyers to people complaining about the weather or their job! I am fine with all of this, as Facebook is a forum for people to share their personal thoughts and messages. What I am not fine with is the endless videos and pictures of the current world issues being posted all over our newsfeeds. The constant bombardment of videos and pictures of people being brutally bashed in Gaza, dead bodies scattered across roadways and even children with half their bodies blown to pieces flooding Facebook is disgusting to say the least. I am astonished that such videos even get the publicity to be shared around our newsfeeds. Now dont get me wrong this is not me picking a side, truthfully I believe there are no winners in war just empty hearts for the families who lose loved ones in these tragic conflicts. My beef is with Facebook. The organisation that allow users to report and ban certain photos from being seen but than allow such grotesque and visually disturbing images to be seen around their network. They lead you to believe you have a choice by having the report this post option which from what we know lets us filter what is seen on FB! Creating peace of mind for parents whos kids use this media platform. The slightest appearance of a nipple or any nudity at all is instantly reported and taken down to protect our children or people who are offended. But these barbaric and insensitive videos continue to be flashed across our screens and childrens computer screens. This is just not on!! No matter who is right or wrong in world conflicts there is no room for this sort of stuff on Facebook! Facebook is about connecting people with others not dividing them and showing them, especially children, graphic videos of mutilated victims of war! This is a clear and biased attempt by Facebook or whoever posts the videos to sway peoples and childrens view on politically issues. If you can ban womens breast or males asses from Facebook because there too offensive than clearly videos of dead people are offensive too..somebody think of the children who openly view this stuff. In the words of Derryn Hinch Shame on you Facebook, shame shame shame!
