I wrote this status , as gentle reminder to all of us . . . Although Christmas and gift giving time is over for most of us in the western world , there is still much work to be done , in our gift giving to each other . It can be something as simple as offering your seat on the bus to an elderly person , or holding open a door for a young parent pushing a stroller through . It costs nothing to show respect to our fellow human beings , and I promise you the benefits are life changing for all . . . On a broader plain , we have the power to make significant changes to this world . Did you know that Malaria is deadly ? Carried by mosquitoes , it kills a child in Africa every 60 seconds and it’s entirely preventable: This gift is a simple solution designed to stop a killer in its tracks. Im pleased to say that some of our own children were able to be part of supplying bed nets for these children , and therefore have been instrumental in saving lives . Girls in the developing world face many obstacles to attending school . Fortunately , we can be part of the solution. Girls-only latrines make schools more welcoming and safer for girls . Fortunately , we were able to help in the building of these latrines . We ask nothing , only that our friends be mindful of your own power . If you happen to read this , it is our fervent hope that you share the love , take a moment to think , open your mind , lift your heart , and feel your spirit soar in the goodness , the wonder , the gift , that is humanity . . .
