I wrote to the editor of the TC newspaper again. They never print my letters. lol. I wonder why. Anyways here is what I sent them. I will be watching to see if they dare print it or not. Deer not the Problem! Humans Are! I can be silent no more. After reading all the letters to the editor regarding the deer problem I am much disparaged. I feel you are blaming us deer instead of realizing the real problem. Humans are the problem! First off in one letter it is stated “The deer problem is a serious one that affects all of Victoria…” The writer is right that is a more widespread problem. We disagree on who is the cause of it and how far reaching it is. We believe the human problem is a serious one that affects all of planet Earth. Just because you are at the top of the food chain you humans think you have the right to dictate how others animal species on this planet should live. Another writer suggested that you humans should dispatch us deer like you do bears and cougars and called us a nuisance. We are a nuisance that should be dispatched? How would you feel if it was the other way around? That we came into your habitat and ripped up and dug up your homes then shipped you away whenever you came near our dens? You humans do that all the time to us. Is that really fair? Another writer says, “This insanity has to stop. The public is at increasing risk from exposure to Lyme disease, aggressive deer encounters, and deer-vehicle collisions all because the deer population is out of control.” Our population is out of control? How many humans live here again? You are worried about Lyme disease from us? Well we are worried about catching diseases from you humans too you know! Especially with all the STD’s you pass around each other. And we are aggressive? How about you humans? You sneak around and shoot us with arrows, air-soft guns, throw rocks at us, chase us with brooms. We are not the only ones being aggressive! As for deer-vehicle collisions. If you humans would car-pool more we would have a lot less traffic to dodge! You humans are ever so eager to pave a road to move your sorry obese butts around. What do you humans care about nature? You hardly spend any time in it anyways! You expand into our habitant and kick every other creature out as a nuisance. You humans are bullies and snobs just because you are the top of the food chain! You better take a deep look at yourself in the mirror. If you keep going in this direction you humans will end up with what you are wishing for!
