IBD may increase heart failure risk Patients with inflammatory bowel disease had a 37% higher risk of being hospitalized for heart failure compared with those who didnt have IBD, according to a large study conducted in Denmark. The risk of hospitalization for heart failure was higher during flare-ups and periods of persistent activity, researchers reported. The findings were presented at the Heart Failure Congress.
