IBIZA Hike: Cova des Cuieram. After only 400 metres on the right side of the road to San Juan from Cala Sant Vincente you will discover this amazing hike towards the ancient coves of des Cuieram. These coves are the earliest signs of human civilization on Ibiza and located on a very beautiful place. A few days ago I stumbled by accident on this trail because I was walking in the area and decided for no particular reason to turn right at a sandy crossroad. Not much later I found this small sign that indicated “Cova des Cuieram”. Driven by curiosity I followed the road and soon found out this is one of the most beautiful trails I have walked in Ibiza. The whole trail is one steep climb and it took me around 40 minutes to reach the top and the coves of des Cuieram but during the walk I was surrounded by beautiful nature and amazing views. Because I didn’t bring my camera I returned yesterday and made these pictures for you! If you have a chance to do a hike on Ibiza near Cala Sant Vincente this one should be on top of your wishlist! I have not made any pictures of the ancient coves because that is something you just have to see with your own eyes! How to get there: Take the road from San Carlos to Sant Vincente and drive all the way until you reach a cross road where you can turn right to go to Cala Sant Vincente and Left to San Juan and Portinatx. There you go left. After around 300 meters on your right side you will see a small parking place underneath some trees. This is also a place that people regularly use to turn around if they headed in the wrong direction. You may park you car here and you will see on the edge of the parking place a small sign of a hiking trail that leads onto a small road. That’s the road you should take and from there you may follow the signs! Good luck!
