IHer Question: Does anyone have any thoughts on blood clots causing this condition. Note that I have right transverse sinus stenosis on my MRI. Heres a little something that happened to me. Ive had IIH for 4years, and I was still about 15kgs overweight when this happened after losing an initial 10kgs on diagnosis. I went on duramine 8 months ago and lost 10kgs In about 2 months. After those 2 months I started seeing black curtain like little objects in corner of my eyes. About 5 times in an hour and it happened maybe 5 times in a 2 week period. (Really frightening). this was Not the usual circle like fade in fade out of the pressure that occurs. This was like there was a foreign object passing by. I googled this and it sounded similar to blood clots. Now I thought something was really wrong so off I went to the ER, but just ended getting sent back to my neuro, who did all the tests including an OCT and it showed that my swelling in my optic nerves had actually gone down and I was getting better. ?? Its been about 5 months now and those spots have never come back and its slowly getting better. But I cant help to feel like those spots had something to do with the fact that I was losing weight and then all of a sudden I started getting better just after that strange 2 week period of seeing those black side curtain like things? My neuro said no when I mentionrd the clot thing to her when it happened, however last time I was there (5months later) she mentioned a colleague had brought up the fact it could be a clotting issue and was going to do some research in to it with his patients??? Anyhow, just thought I would put it out there to you all??
