IK at Namal University for the keynote Speech: I am a frequent public speaker. I go to school, colleges, Universities, public forums to share my own little story of life. I know the impact when someone local narrates something inspirational and have gone through it. In my life have listened to many motivational talks around the world. All truly inspirational and did motivate me to set higher goals and Pursue them. However, I could never connect well with anyone of them. While I understood the story & messages, but was never able to picture the story for myself - as the field where the story developed was in many ways alien to me. This is where I am always in search of local material, local stories, local inspiration. Takes my inspiration to a completely different level - many notches up. Must admit none better so far than the story of Imran Khan. His key note speech to the young graduates of Namal University today had everything I have always been looking for. At 9, wanted to be a test cricketer. Got there. Once there, wanted to be the best all rounder in the Pakistan team. Got there. Once there, wanted to be the best all rounder in the world. Got there. Once there, wanted to win the first World Cup for the country. Got there. Once there, wanted to build the first cancer hospital. Got there. Once there wanted to build a world class University in a remote area. Go there. Wanted to establish a party which creates a change wave in the country - The journey continues.... I was neither the most skilled, nor the most studious. However I was definitely the most determined, had higher goals and would work harder than any to achieve them. No short cut in life. Each goal bigger than the previous one. Each challenge, tougher than what was achieved. The resolve firm, the commitment to vision unwavering. These are true lessons of life. I could relate everything he said, as the inning was played on my turf, in my culture. Strongly recommend people - young and old, boys and girls, men and women to have a listen to his speech. Not for your political liking or disliking, but to be proud of him as a Pakistani for giving us true inspiration. Thank you Imran Khan - Thank you for inspiring a humble soul.
