IKORODU LG SITUATION: ARE WE ALL DEAD? Just finished reading the book by our own Kogi, Prof. Wole Soyinka, The Man Died, which simply implies that we are dead when we keep quite when we ought to have voice out against INJUSTICE, BAD GOVERNANCE, and UNDESIRABLE situation. In his own words, Kogi stated that “The man dies in him who keeps quiet in the face of injustice.” Are we all dead? Im compelled to ask this question in view of recent happenings in Ikorodu Local Government, where the falcons can no longer hear the Falconers. Governance in our council grounded since the inception of the present administration which have been moving from one scandal to the other. Government Functionaries in our council are now at state of war and not observing war conventions. Yeah, its a guerrilla warfare which is usually prolong and without ending, yet those that matters are saying nothing. Where are the religion, opinion, political, traditional and economic leaders? Are the youth groups tired? Where are institutions like IDRDG, IKODASS, Oriwu Club, The Exclusive Club, Council of Baales and Honourary Chiefs, COLID, League of Journalists, Ikorodu, CDAs, CDC and other stakeholders? I hope that our pursuit of governorship position is not making us lose touch of other realities? If we eventually get the number position in the state, are we going to start rebuilding all over again? If not, lets protect what we have at hand while we strategically pursue the uncertainties. Ikorodu Local Government is collapsing and if care is not taken, the cabal that have over the years turn our collective wealth into personal use will take it down the drain because they are going down. Still passing by ni joor!!
