INSPIRED THOUGHTS By Moses Hightower “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9) * Lift your eyes unto the joy of the Lord in you. Lift your face unto the scepter of righteousness, which has been stretched forth unto you. God has made you glad. Now go and serve him with it, then will you behold the power of the word on behalf of his name and his Spirit. Go and proclaim the good word of God that is in you. * The song of hunger must be totally ignored at the altar of devotion unto God. The melody of slumber with its solo of false peace and persuasive thoughts of misplaced priorities must be shut out of the chamber of your heart. Insult the language of your body by the sound of sacrificial praises in the face of its slurred language of war. Speak the confidence of the Spirit and declare victory over the flesh and a weary body. God’s grace is sufficient for you. * Your obedience to the gospel has allowed you to be identified with Jesus. You are buried with him by baptism into death. As he was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so you also should walk in newness of life. You have been planted together in the likeness of his death, and therefore you are also in the likeness of his resurrection. Your old man is crucified with him, and the body of sin is destroyed that henceforth you should not serve sin. He that is dead is freed from sin. You are dead with Jesus; therefore, you also live with him, knowing that he is raised from the dead, and he does not die anymore. Death does not have any dominion over him, for in that he died, he died unto sin once, but in that he lives, he lives unto God. Reckon yourself to be dead unto sin but alive unto God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
