INTRODUCING GEORGE SANTOS, TANGHALANG PILIPINO(TP)S MARKETING CONSULTANT In our continuing effort to raise funds for Tanghalang Pilipino, not only for its CCP performances, but also for its proposed national tour of mobile productions and workshops, and possible international projects, TP has requested Mr. George Santos, a marketing expert and former Production Manager and Line-Producer of many of the films of National Artist Lino Brocka, to introduce TP and its programs to both local and international corporations, financial institutions and philanthropists and to convince them to provide all types of support to Tanghalang Pilipino. George is a good friend of mine since the 70s and 80s when Lino Brocka was Executive Director of the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA), and at the same time, getting the highest recognition as film director nationally and internationally. All these times, George was the Production Manager of Linos locally funded films, and the line-producer of his international films. George was directly involved in the international screening and festival participation of Brockas films. Through the years, George has established a huge network of local and international supporters, not only of Linos films, but of Philippine arts and culture, in general. George has line-produced for films and documentaries on the Philippines for BBC London, Tele-Rachette of France, Cinema 7 of Germany and TV Ontario of Canada. George, recognizing that as a theater artist and as Artistic Director of Tanghalang Pilipino, I am, in a sense, continuing the vision of Lino Brocka, for Philippine Theater, has expressed his sincere desire to help me and TP by sharing his expertise in Marketing and fund-raising. He will specifically focus on tapping big corporations and philanthropists here in the Philippines, and abroad. He will work very closely with our current Marketing team (Marketing Manager Cherrybong Edralin and associates Lei Celestino and Enzo Marco).
