INTRODUCTION 1. In alignment with the guidance provided in References A and B and in recognition of sacrifices made in earlier and more recent times, there will be a British Forces Brunei Remembrance ceremony on Sunday 10 November 2013 in Hornbill School hall. The ceremony is open to personnel from all BFB Sub-Units and Departments, Civilian Support Staff and all families. EXECUTION 2. The ceremony will commence at 1030hrs and finish at around 1125hrs. All attendees are respectfully requested to be at the school by 1025hrs. 3. There will be a 2 minute silence commencing at 1100hrs. Attendees are requested to control small children during this time and are reminded to silence or turn off mobile phones and digital watches prior to the ceremony. There will also be a retiring collection in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal at the conclusion of the ceremony. 4. Immediately following the ceremony, tea and coffee will be served in the Garrison Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess in Medicina Lines. A curry lunch will also be available later for all attendees on a Pay as You Dine basis (approximately $5 per person). All entitled attendees of the ceremony are invited to the reception up until 1400hrs; thereafter the Mess will be available only to Members and invited guests. ADMINISTRATION 5. The dress for military personnel will be clean, smart MTP Working Dress; headdress is to be removed when indoors. Dependants and civilian staff are requested to dress appropriately to the occasion. 6. Poppies are to be worn and can be obtained prior to the ceremony at various locations around the Garrison; additional poppies will also be available on the day. 7. Drinking water and cups will be available on site. 8. Personnel using their own transport may park to the front of the school as required. Drivers are to ensure that emergency access is not blocked in any way. The RMP are requested to provide a Military presence with the assistance of the GSD throughout the ceremony. SUMMARY 10. The ceremony will be taking place in Hornbill Primary School hall. All BFB Personnel and Supporting elements are more than welcome to attend the ceremony with their families. Dress for troops is clean, smart MTP Working Dress. Dependants and civilian staff are requested to dress appropriately to the occasion. Arrive by 1025hrs; the ceremony should take no more than 1 hour. POINT OF CONTACT 12. The GSM is the lead for the ceremony.
