IRIIM Completes 33 Years for Healthy Life Indian Research Institute for Integrated Medicine (IRIIM) (Govt. of India Recognised & Aided Research, Service and Govt. of West Bengal Affiliated Training Institute) MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS OF IRIIM AT A GLANCE • R & D activity of IRIIM is guided by a well equipped Research Advisory Board chaired by noted Defence Scientist Prof. Dr. Ram Gopal; • Since 1996, IRIIM is recognised as a Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by Govt. of India, Ministry of Science & Technology which is renewed every 3 years; • Successfully completed six major research projects sanctioned by Govt. of India under ICMR, DST, DIT, DRDO, CCRYN; • Grantee Organization of Central Council of Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN) since 1999; • Since 2006, the only Major Grantee Naturopathy Hospital in West Bengal by National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), Pune under AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India; Conducting regularly Selection for Trainees on behalf of NIN, Pune. • Under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) of Govt. of India, IRIIM conducted Research Survey of Traditional Medicine in two States (WB & Tripura) out of 21 States in 2008. Report published by GOI; • Since 1993 to 2007 regularly conducted De-addiction programme under Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India with special emphasis on Research Achievement of applying drugless Pro Nature therapies. Now continuing this work as pioneer resource centre for Training of AYN in combating Addiction related problems to De-Addiction. • Since 1990, the only Indoor Integrated Acupuncture-Yoga-Naturopathy Hospital in India was sanctioned grant from Govt. of WB for raising initial hospital building to cater the needs of diseased and for conducting clinical research studies on the efficacy of drugless pro nature therapies in comparison to conventional one; • Since 1981, IRIIM runs Acupuncture-Yoga-Naturopathy College of Research where it imparts training (certificate course) to Qualified Doctors and Freshers. Regular training is also conducted throughout India. About 1200 persons trained so far. • Since 2004, Acupuncture Training by IRIIM for Doctors is affiliated by Council of Acupuncture Therapy, Govt. of W.B. • Since 2010, Programme Study Centre of IGNOU for PG Diploma Course in Acupuncture; • In Oct. 2012, signed MOU with Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar, a duly recognized University for collaborative work on R&D, training, awareness generation; • Collaboration with traditional healers of USA, Australia, China, Nepal & Bangladesh; • Training and consultancy to Medicos, Health-workers, Students, Corporate, Voluntary Organisations & others. • Regularly training and propagating the Traditional Tongue Diagnosis Methodology all over India as this is the unique identification of IRIIM throughout India.
