ISRAEL A SIGN TO THE NATIONS Benny Hinn I am asking you to focus your attention on Israel because it is the key to the future of the Middle East. The Bible tells us that everything God does on this planet, He will do according to His dealings with Israel. For example, the Bible tells us, “When the Most High divided their inheritance to the nations, when He separated the sons of Adam, He set the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the children of Israel” (Deuteronomy 32:8). We also discover that Israel is not only a voice of prophecy but also the sign to the world: “Here am I and the children whom the Lord has given me! We are for signs and wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, who dwells in Mount Zion” (Isaiah 8:18). God’s Word makes it clear that before the Lord’s return, we will see the restitution (restoration) of Israel. Allow me to explain. The apostle Peter made a powerful statement when he told the people of Israel that the miracles they were seeing were the workings of the Messiah they had rejected. He urged them to repent and be converted so their sins would be blotted out, making them ready “so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19). Peter was speaking of a future event. “That He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began” (verses 20-21). This lets us know that Christ will not return to the earth in the clouds of glory until all has been restored. We simply cannot unravel or understand what is taking place in the Middle East or on the world scene without recognizing the central role of Israel---God’s time clock.
