IT Manager: Category : IT Managment Location/City : MA - Quincy Id : 3028060 Job Type : Direct Hire IT ManagerSummary:The IT Manager provides crucial, ground up, support to a small and efficient game development team. Managing all of the studios IT needs, ensuring that all systems, software, and hardware function effectively, efficiently, and securely in support of all production and business needs. Provide staff with support and training as necessary for all areas of the IT discipline. The position requires both an in depth technical knowledge, as well as a dedication and willingness to take on any facet of IT needed to develop and ship a game at the highest quality standards.What you?ll do: Hold end-to-end responsibility for all servers, workstations, network infrastructure and applications. Ensure the stability, security, performance, and integrity of the studio development environment. Responsible for the security of systems, data, and intellectual property, including access control, encryption, security updates and patches. Advise and collaborate with production and development team to identify and implement solutions for studio workflow and production requirements. Demonstrate strategic thinking when pursuing issue resolution and end objectives. Installation, support and ongoing maintenance of end user workstations and software. Support internal applications, including, but not limited to, Perforce, Confluence and Jira. Manage relationships with IT vendors / suppliers, external contractors, and corporate IT team. Provide on-site and remote technical support and training for all studio staff and external partners. Perform basic administration and updates of public-facing studio and product web sites. Set up meeting room A/V and video conferencing equipment.What we?re looking for: Bachelors degree in Computer Science/MIS or equivalent experience. 5 or more years of diverse IT experience with expertise in infrastructure management. IT experience in software development, the games industry, or other digital media (e.g., animated feature films, motion-picture visual effects, or broadcast media) is a plus. Experience with managing IT spending and forecasting. Experience managing build systems/farms. Industry experience with one or more shipped AAA titles is preferred. Experience managing first-party partner relationships (e.g. Valve, Microsoft, Sony) is preferred. Involvement in building an IT infrastructure from the ground up is preferred. Background with game-development consoles or prototype hardware is a plus.Technical Skills: Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 administration VMWare ESXi 5.0 / VSphere management Linux administration Cisco IOS, Nexus and ASA management Perforce administration System / network monitoring experience (Nagios / check_mk preferred) Active Directory and Group Policy management. Operational knowledge of database management systems (MySQL and MSSQL). Atlassian Confluence and Jira experience is a plus Physical access control (RFID/key fob) and security camera systems. Backup software management and disaster-recovery policies and procedures.
