Ice bucket challenge for the nay Sayers is recognized by the ALS organization since the start of the challenge they have raised more money than they have ever I repeat ever raised. So far since the challenge has started they have raised more than 30 times their annual donations. Way to go guys! I know everyone doesnt donate, but think about it if only 1 in 10 people on your fb donates wow. I know some good people who have done the challenge and donated. Proud to call them my friend so ice it up America Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrigs Disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed.
