Iconic Dungeons and Dragons Artist David A. Trampier has passed away. His work evoked great medieval fantasy adventures, and he illustrated the perhaps the most famous Dungeon Masters screen, that hid the GMs notes and die rolls while providing an amazing, sprawling narrative of epic adventure over three laminated panels the players viewed every session. He left gaming suddenly in 1988 and mysteriously disappeared, only to be discovered in 2013 in Carbondale, IL driving a cab for Yellow Taxi. After the cab company shut down, he had a stroke and other medical problems, including cancer. He was 59 years old.
