Id like to share a post from one of our awesome Volunteers, Nicole Schramm: Christmas miracles at Mackenzies Animal Sanctuary: Two very special dogs found loving forever homes! Isis, the white Husky mix went home today. She was at Mackenzies for several years, went to a couple homes but got returned. She suffers from separation anxiety and can be an escape artist. A wonderful volunteer fell in love with her, fully understands her issues, and opened her heart and home to her. Isis also has a doggie sister now. Rusty, the Chow mix, went to his home - his first real home! - yesterday. He came to Mackenzies over 11 years ago. He was feral because he didnt have any human interaction for the first year of his life. Very slowly he started to trust the staff and a few volunteers but he has always been super shy. Then a family filled out an application for him. They fell in love with him, came out to the sanctuary several times, exchanged blankets, and attended the shy dog group at Mackenzies which Rusty was a member of. (Super awesome group, by the way! Thank you to everyone who has been part of this group! You guys are amazing!!) Rusty has two doggie siblings now. Tears are running down my face while I am writing this. Never stop believing in miracles! They do happen! Merry Christmas Isis and Rusty!
