Id like to take a moment to release some frustration. Warning: This post may offend some of you as it is centered around race and ignorance. I do my very best, as does my entire family, to help promote a world without hate or intollerance. I grew up in a time where blacks were treated different; a lot different. Thankfully, A lot has changed in the past forty years but unfortunately not enough. My family and I treat all people as people based on their own merits and actions; not on how they look or their social status. Over the past few years I have become friends with a lot of young people in my community and have put myself into certain situations where I can determine my own opinion on things rather than to follow the flow or popular opinion. Please forgive me here, but it sickens me to hear people, yes even rappers who are African-American, use the term nigga in their speech, social media, or song-writing. I am a strong proponent of anti-censorship and believe art should be presented the way the artist intended. However, and honestly speaking, its not so much about music with that slang term in it, its the younger generation of every race using the term, nigga when referring to others trying to make them appear gangsta or ghetto. This term is just as bad, poor taste, and demeaning as the actual N-word in my opinion and should be stopped. It really give me the chills, in a bad way, when I hear anything close to the derogatory word. Please stop this and let us appreciate the life we all have today. We are one world who should love each other in order to make our world a better place. Yes we all have differences, but that is what makes us unique. Love people for who they are, not where they are from or what they look like. I am doing my part to erase the ignorance one idiot at a time as I do not feel the need for such hate or racism in my life. I apologize if I have insulted or offended anybody with this post but I had to speak up. It has been bugging me since long before Facebook or any other social media existed. Thank you all- And I love you.
