Kettering Town Preservation Society will, over the next few weeks be making videos to upload to Youtube and Facebook. It will be the start of a campaign against the East of Kettering Development. Some of our members may think it a waste of time because the development is already going ahead, thats ok, we never expected everybody to agree, but many of us believe its well worth a try, and will not roll over to diktats and undemocratic processes. We know this development was given the go ahead by John Prescott and the previous government approximately 15 years ago. Many things have changed since then, especially with the emergence of quality social networking, many groups have formed which treasure our environment and heritage. Many people have still not heard about the development, which goes to show how ineffective communication between authorities and the electorate is. Many people within the area do not realise that their way of life is going to be affected, or the total destruction of probably the most biodiverse ecosystem in the Kettering area. While people can communicate with Members of Parliament and the local authorities, we must never give up without a determined effort. Even if we fail to stop the development we will fight tooth and nail to alter much of it, taking it all the way to parliament, and using any legal way open too us. This campaign will NOT go away, get ready for long haul. Also get ready to work alongside other groups we are contacting. More on this soon...
