If Casper was the friendly ghost, then Jasper is the friendly dog! - TopicsExpress

If Casper was the friendly ghost, then Jasper is the friendly dog! This two-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix arrived at the Sampson County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on January 14th. The fur around Jaspers neck was stained from the chain he previously wore. Jasper faced an uphill battle to get out of the shelter alive; not only was he a Pit Bull mix, but he was also heartworm positive. On March 6th, Sharon Whitley, who volunteers with the Sampson County Animal Advocates, asked if RADAR could help Jasper. The same day we provide an offer to assist with Jaspers heartworm treatment costs as an incentive for a rescue to take him. Sharon also reached out to Deb Terrero and her Companion Animal Rescue & Education (CARE) in New Jersey. On March 30th CARE agreed to take Jasper! He was safely out of the shelter and off to his temporary foster home on April 1st. Jasper had his heartworm treatment done on April 9th. Sharon shared this with us about Jasper: Yes, this boy is a Pit Bull mix, but he is one of the sweetest ones I have ever met. Hes good with other dogs. I played with him, and he just wants someone to love. He has a very happy tail. He is such a sweet boy!
