If UG departements at IIT were countries, which branch would you associate to which country, and why? 1.Computer Science is USA You see them everywhere, flaunting their wealth, bullying smaller counterparts, taking away their jobs. But beneath their flashy wealth is a boring and dull life, of white picket fence houses, and well manicured lawns. 2.Elec is China: A ferocious competitor to U.S., very industrious but a little under-appreciated. Delivers quite less compared to the array of sacrifices it takes from its citizens. 3.Mechanical is Japan: Rose up from the ruins to become the third largest economy after U.S and China but is relatively stagnant because of its conservative approach. 4.Chemical is India: A rich heritage but never quite realized its potentials. Likes to believe that it can become great but many problems pull it back. 5.Civil is Spain: Dealing with unemployment, it has never been revered for academics. However, it has a great culture. 6.Aerospace is Switzerland: Fascinating but has not developed much. Survives mainly on a small dedicated group. 7.Energy is Israel: Growing slowly but steadily. Has a tremendous potential in future. 8.Engineering Physics is Britain: Is the core of many nations but not revered now. Has loyal citizens, who have come to stay despite knowing the high costs of living. 9.Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science is Brazil: Similar to Spain. Has an equally great culture. 10.MSc Chemistry is Pakistan: Mostly hated by its own citizens. Many of them were forced to stay because they could not go to India. Citizens desperately searching for opportunities to migrate to other nations. #quora #IIT #iitb
