If anything 2014 has pretty much been a foretell of what one can anticipate in the new/present year of 2015. Maybe I am being bleak but it feels like I should be walking tip-toed in welcoming the indefinite New Year. The weather has been pretty much unpredictable and has been showing signs of its prowess, probably a forewarning so that we don’t continue destroying what’s left of nature or humanity. Economically, I hope the millionaires’ maybe now billionaires on top stop feeding their greed—but we know that won’t happen. Those who are supposed to Govern-us-men have proved that the only things they govern are their insatiable desires, like how much will be enough?? These days all I see are mountains, rumah setinggans and wildlife being chopped off so that developers can build more buildings for the rich to get richer. However, in an age where capitalism, disparity, corruption and selfishness precede, it’s just awesome to see people striving to make the world a better place by being kind, helpful and selfless. Perhaps if more of us were to step out from the shallow and materialistic decree of the society, perhaps then our presumably gloomy planet will emanate with life and not a life of enslavement(thanks to the banks). The only hope for humanity is when the kindness and selflessness within them takes precedence over their innate inclination towards selfishness and self-centeredness. Though in a state of constant stress and unrealistic expectations it makes life even more of a struggle…nevertheless; here’s to hoping. Happy New Year?
