If the US is genuinely concerned with undocumented workers coming through Mexico, why dont we provide aid and commerce for Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua (the places most undocumented people are coming from)? Because there isnt any oil? We are squandering so much money and so many resources building walls and detention centers and paying people to manage the walls and the detention centers and we are destroying peoples lives so unnecessarily. Economically and in humanitarian terms both, we would be so much better off if we were just willing to help, to be kind, to share resources in a positive way instead of throwing them away on punishment and harm.
