If there is one thing all statists love, then is the idea that the individual is not responsible for him/herself, but is a disease or anything else to blame. Like guns that kill people by themselves and/or posses people and drive them to commit crimes by their dark magic of mind control. You know, people are victims or they have to be educated that they are victims, and such. Victimology: a specialty of the leftists. You have to create a victim kind of mindset to reinforce dependency of a system that takes care of poor you, and so on. What better way for that than explaining how people are not responsible, but some evil viruses, some genes, spoons, and such? That establishes a convenient mindset, and people get used with the idea that is not their responsibility, generally speaking. So you can regress them to cry baby state of mind. Its simple. Expand that kind of pattern of action to almost everything, then look around: what you see, is the result of it.
