If there were no constitutional bar, there is enough fuel in his social (K12, KP, 4Ps) and economic (credit upgrade and recent blast of PPPs) achievements since almost of them are medium-term in impacts which should begin in earnest in his last two years for him to seek a new mandate. Still, a 2nd run is irreconcilable to the quintessential PNoy that I know, moreso to the Cory-Ninoy legacy. He would kill the idea even for economic competitiveness since every President before him transmogrify it into a backdoor for term extension. In short, this one-time fling with grand political gambling can only be understood in the milieu of his obscene disenchantment with the Supreme Court esp. with the Chief Justice and his other appointees who proved no match to the intellectual bullying of Justice Carpio whom he bypassed. And the other doctine generous to the Presidents positionis that he is preempting any lameduckery from setting in (he has one SONA left) by setting a radical menu in the national agenda. Whichever, I am glad that he has abandoned his erstwhile stubborn opposition to constitutional reforms. At least the debate on a shift to parliamentary and federal form of government should again be on the top of mind of the urban middle class, the elite and the intelligentsia. In short, as fas as a 2nd term is concerned, I dont think he is serious since he just wants to unsettle the Supreme Court, throw at his noisy punditry a little discomfort and give a the people a little twist in his premeditated ordinariness.
