If they only read their history History is always repeating - TopicsExpress

If they only read their history History is always repeating itself in all possible ways, a fact that we are aware of and a truth proven throughout time in Egypt and around the globe. Mostly historians realize this fact but we all like to talk about it. Going back and deep into their history, one can easily read through the long eighty years since the establishment of the Muslim Brotherhood the real reasons for their existence and the main objective of their continuous presence. Their late founder, Hassan El Banna had the ultimate dream of establishing his own empire keeping in mind Abdel Aziz Al-Seoud, using the illusions as an ideology and ultimate power as a valid tool to make it happen. He sold at a time a genuine product that found a green ground to flourish, convince and grow. What could be better than religion to convince people to submit and obey to, in order to be successfully caught within the entrapment of his thoughts and aspirations, mostly without understanding anything about them? All over history, Muslim Brotherhoods were legitimate tools in safe hands of different governments in power. They all used them for further plans and end up always throwing them away. First supported by the British to counterbalance the power of the King and get rid of him, they were again used by late president Nasser who first belonged to them. They ended up with their leaders and active members all in prison during the sixties of the last century, a date that they still recall and live with. From Nasser to Sadat, the same story was repeated once again. Freedom first to counterbalance with the power and support of the Russians enabling late president Sadat to successfully restore his capitalist plans at the expenses of the social movement, well integrated within society and dominating the scene. Mubarak was not an exception. Instead, he used the same strategies allowing them to acquire more weight and power with the freedom he allowed them to practice politics, get involved in business and get more involved in society. From syndicates to the parliament, they got more and more integrated using their vicious slogans and rhetorical call for the return “Islam Back”. Successfully, they gathered supporters, enhanced their presence and enlarged their grounds using Islam as a solution against the sins of the society and tailoring its sacred rules versus their mediocre aspirations with this catholic marriage between Islam as a religion and Muslim Brotherhood as a political movement. Consequently, the supporters increased in numbers and more civil victims were added to the list. Based on nothing but empty words, dreams and illusions, they succeeded in mobilizing millions of civilians, only seeking a must- have change for the ‘best’ of the country. On the other side, leaders and rulers of this black box covering the real essence of the Muslim Brotherhoods goals and objectives, the scene was ready and the ground was open for a new chapter, perhaps the last in their history. Given the blessing of the United States, and following their success to establish Islamic rule in Turkey, Tunisia and finally Egypt, they seem to be apparently going from one victory to another. Their so-called success in the Egyptian presidential elections a year ago, a success strongly in doubt with a legal case still pending and currently under examination, waiting for the final verdict. This placed them for the very first time in their history in the spotlight and made from the underground organization a legitimate entity with a political party in one hand and a president in the other. True, they had a chance; probably the only inconceivable chance to shine, stabilize their power, contain the country and pursue reform procedures in order to rule the country for years to come. Instead, they were seeking for more to dominate all possible formal and informal channels and seats. Key positions were only given to their supporters and official seats were only theirs. The country was a goal in itself, a theory going against nature and rational thinking where no power is a goal in itself but always a tool for further objectives. Unlike what revolutionaries were aiming for, the Mubarak regime was perfectly substituted by the Islamic one. Figures changed, titles altered, names were different and the system remained the same. Is this the core of the game? Absolutely not, people who went down in millions claiming social welfare, development, good living and equality will ever accept to be caught up once more within the same entrapment for many years to come with more aggression, containment and sufferings. Obviously, a secret organization which never practiced out loud will never be able to manage a country towards development and growth. Instead, the underground manoeuvres and dark practices will always remain in the back of their minds. Reading thoroughly in the history of all secret organizations, the facts proved to be always the same. Whoever works in the dark will never be able to function in sunlight in an open air environment where trust and credibility are keys to deliver and acquire legitimacy and sovereignty. Instead, they should reach out to the sun and die with its light following the legend of Icaros who died once achieving his dream to reach the sun. You get burnt with total ignorance of the actual rules of the game. Whoever spends years in the dark poorly functions and achieves. The end therefore is inevitable. Whether today, tomorrow or after, it will happen sooner or later. Ruling the world and establishing the so-called “Islamic Khelafa” was an era, passed years and years ago, and could never be established again in the light of the current conditions in the world. They are close to fall in Turkey with Ardogan finally revealing his real face, they are facing troubles in Tunisia with an oppressive government facing anger and refusal from its people. Last but not least, they are facing harsh opposition in Syria despite all the US support to override the country and defeat Al-Asad, enjoying at his turn support from the other side of the world. In Egypt, the situation is clear-cut and the end is coming hopefully sooner than later. They might stay after the 30th, yet, their real power is now revealed and their mediocre statements can no longer affect anyone. They could stay for more few weeks till they fall apart but they will definitely fall apart. They cannot stay facing the anger of a total population seeking their departure and ready for the battle no matter what it takes. In fact, they did not deploy an effort to charge everyone and all the bodies against them; insulting the legal body, making fun of the army, humiliating intellectuals, looking down at the opposition, destroying the country, savouring its economy and threatening the entire populous. Thanks to their leaders and their harsh statements, the anger is increasing and the final end is near. Do they realize the same scene is repeated again? Do they pursue the fact that the US support is an illusion that will turn against them in case of defeat? The US and all other superpowers cannot compromise on losing Egypt as the major power in the region and one of the most strategic powers in the world today. No one can compromise on losing Egypt. True, they will support them to a large extent and will turn against them when they lose ground. The game of politics has no emotions, no loyalty and no stagnant position. The seats change and the truth is to support who comes on the top not those who fail to sustain it. The fact remains the same; the US is protecting its interests and defending its own objectives. They did not get the lesson of change in Obama’s position vis-à-vis Al-Asad in Syria in the aftermath of the pressure of the International Community. Eventually, they do not read; neither history nor present and definitely they only base their future plans on illusions in their minds and dreams that are hard to achieve. Inji Mounib
