If you have any doubt about Republican intent with anti-voter law, watch this 1.5 minute exchange between Sen. Rucho and me from last summer about pre-registration of high school civics students. We require instruction of civics in high school to promote democratic participation in our society. NC had a law that pre-registered 50,000 high schools students each year during civics class to make real what they were learning so that when they turned 18 they would be already registered to vote. Republicans eliminated this program because they do not want young people to vote. Listen and tell me if you believe Sen. Ruchos justification.
