If you havent seen the film César Chávez (2014) directed by Diego Luna, I highly recommend it. At minimum its a moving film and excellent primer on the history of the Mexican and Filipino US farm workers movement in the 1970s. Through an intersectional analysis it demonstrates why community grassroots organizing is integral for the future of labor rights, migrant workers rights, and immigrants rights towards a more socially, racially, and economically just future. Content warning: racial and ethnic slurs, racialized violence, violence against immigrants
