Roberta, awarded me with the number 7, so here are 7 things that you may not know about me... 1. When I was a young girl my parents built a fibreglass and foam sandwich 40ft catamaran in our back yard. We lived on it for a couple of years and cruised up and down the Queensland coast to Cardwell and back. The boat was call Zzipey, an anagram of our family name. 2. My grandfather, Jack Pizzey, was the Premier of Queensland, Minister for Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal Affairs, Police, Education, and Migration. He was also in the Queensland Cricket Team and chosen to play in the Sheffield Shield Team. He died in 1968 of a massive heart attack when he was 57 and had only been premier for a short time. I never met him. I wish I had. 3. I was a member of quite a well know Brisbane Band in the 90s called ISIS. We released 4 albums, 2 videos, and did hundreds of gigs. At the launch for our second album in 1995, there was a cue from the Zoo all the way up Ann Street and then around the corner into Brunswick Street up to the Irish Pub. I was so nervous you can see my knees my knocking together in the recording of the first song. This was also the only time in my life ive worn hot pants and knee high boots! I was smokin! 4. I never use the h word. Its evil and nasty and poisons humanity every time it is uttered. Words have the power to heal and the power to hurt. I challenge you to think every time you are about to use this word, does the sentence really require such an intensely negative word? 5. Most of the time I manage, but sometimes I struggle with my anxiety and depression and I let the fear hold me back from doing the very thing that takes me to that perfect moment when nothing else in the world exists. 7. 7 has been my favourite number since I can remember, and recently found out that in numerology I am a 7, and it keeps popping up in my life.
