If you want to know how low your country has fallen, its people stripped of supposed national pride, even treated like suspected criminals, go to the embassies of these western countries to watch the humiliation of a people. The sad thing is, most of these fleeing countrymen lying to their interrogators and tendering forged documents for a short-term visa, an expiration of what they may disregard, are making the trips under the illusion of a prosperity waiting for them there. Nigeria may be a mess, but there cant be an experience worse than running from an unfriendly authority and eventually ending up at deportation camps thousands of miles away from your country, subjected to terrifying send-forth. At some of these embassies and high commissions, even at those of Asian countries, there are notice boards strictly for documenting news of Nigerians arrested in their countries; a loud way of saying: See that, Boy! Dont even try to be a Nigerian in our country! Which is why if I become the head of this country, Ill rename it, as once suggested by Dr. Farooq Kperogi. Songhai is the name, a good name. Also, psychologically useful. Whats in a name? Ask the children of Nigerian Big Men for what truly is in a name! (~_~)
