If you wish to file a complaint against a prosecutor, contact the bar association in your state. A state-by-state listing of bar associations is available on the American Bar Association (ABA) Web site at americanbar.org/groups/bar_services/resources/state_local_bar_associations.html. If you feel that a judge has exhibited bias or unethical behavior and you wish to file a complaint, please contact the appropriate agency within your state. A state-by-state directory of state judicial conduct agencies is available via the American Judicature Society (AJS) Web site at https://ajs.org/judicial-ethics/judicial-conduct-commissions/. If you wish to file a complaint against a Federal Judge, contact the Clerk of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the circuit in which the judge presides. There are 12 circuits, including the District of Columbia. For a directory of Federal Appeals Courts by circuit, please visit uscourts.gov/court_locator.aspx. You can also view information about how to file a civil rights complaint on the Frequently Asked Questions section of the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division Criminal Section Web site at justice.gov/crt/complaint/. Finally, we believe your inquiry may be best addressed by a lawyer. The Legal Services Corporation (LSC) funds civil legal aid programs around the nation to help Americans gain equal access to the judicial system. To find the nearest LSC program, please choose your state and county information at rin.lsc.gov. You may also obtain a lawyer referral from the Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) program provided by your local State Bar Association office. The LRS will match you with a lawyer based upon your specific legal need. To access a directory of LRS programs by state, please visit apps.americanbar.org/legalservices/lris/directory/. We hope the above information is helpful to you. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
