Ill repeat myself because its Friday afternoon and I have a cold beer. I was a guest in the home of a major donor about a decade ago. He was the family host to Brook B. back when that was permitted. He spoke with TO often. He told me that very few people realize exactly how fragile the Nebraska football program is due to geography. I add to that the four years under the coach who shall not be named and what I conclude is that STABILITY is a great relief. One can build a program at Nebraska off of a stable base. I also am in the camp that says that the Huskers were a much better team last year than the record indicated by the attrition on offense was just too much to overcome. Given the upward trend in recruiting and Bo assembling a set of Assistant Coaches he believes in, I think the Huskers are building up from that base now. What other midwestern programs have been really good only to have largely collapsed? Colorado, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois to name a few. Being a fan in the building years will be fun for those prepared to enjoy the process.
