Im SO sick and tired of cynical responses to things that have an absolute wholehearted intent. Im so tired of seeing these bucket challenges Ugh, so annoyed One man, who suffered from this disease....is suffering, right now, as you read this...had an idea. That idea raised millions for a cause. A cause that has an A plus rating on charity navigator for amount given that actually goes back into programs. Let us look at this for what it is, even through your jaded glasses---- The world is a place-full of death, destruction, evil, sadness etc. This guy literally made up a movement overnight, by doing something as simple as challenging his friends to do something- and you are shitting on it. You want to sit on the other side of your screen and preach your faith, post your photo of yourself at the gym, instagram your meal (that you probably only know how to cook because you saw it off of something--that guess what was viral posted ((super ironic dont you think)) , Check out how drunk I got again at the same place Ive been going every other weekend for three years the picture of the animal that you probably pay zero attention to because you got them in haste to fill a lonely spot, and work too much to give the full care it needs. BASH a flash fundraising campaign, yet post Check out my kid doing something that every other kid, ever, has done I wish this stuff helped more than ALS Then TELL people about your cause. Isnt that exactly what this is doing?! Would you honestly be saying that if the bucket challenge was for (insert personal interest here). NO, but that guy would be right behind you saying the sameeeee bullshit that you are. Instead of destroying the public for getting behind something that has had a real impact. Not just on research, but on the betterment of peoples lives and their inherent family and friends. TODAY. ONE HUNDRED FOLD. This one is for you agnostics, christians, rich, poor, this one is for the world--- At the end of it-we are terribly imperfect, ignorant to life outside of what we care to understand, a delusional human whole. We stick to our own lives, and unless prompted by personal experience, shown by outside forces, we will remain that way to the uncountable calamities that plague our world. Genocide, murder, hunger, terrorism, etc- The list will go on for days. No matter what, the world will never rid itself of evil. As there will always be. This is just an example, of a group of people...starting somewhere. So instead of dismissing it, START SOMEWHERE. See if there is something you can do. We all have events that have hurt us, that we wish were gone. For me, its cancer. My grandmother, my friends, family, For me, its depression-as its affected me, family, friends, and is absolutely misunderstood as a whole by the general public. Stop being cynical. Look at what all of us (myself included) post. Whats it for? Ourselves, the people we care about, and sometimes people we dont care about at all, or think they do. Step outside your head. Your pride. Step back into your heart. There is more than just you out there, and sometimes maybe that is all people are trying to show you. Even if it is with a bucket and water. P.S- you assholes make sobriety really, really hard.
